When I think studio time…
I think of a certain type of energy. A feeling of being in a space created for manifestation. A place where ideas come to life through action. Through all of the years and all of the sessions we* have had together every opportunity to be in a music studio has been a blessing. Through ups and downs, mistakes and successes, every moment has given opportunity to change music, media, fashion, and move pop – culture forward to and through every new era we experience. I’ve used my time to study all genres of music, whether it be in my hometown, Memphis, Tennessee at STAX playing live jazz and rock performances, or a personal blues and barbecue experience on Beale Street. In college as I studied classical music and theory at TSU, I could hear country ballads blast from Broadway, (Nashville, Tennessee.) Even a Latin live band experience while exploring ocean Drive in Miami reminds me of the power music has whether we are creating or just listening: connection. I’m a creator who feels like we all are our products of our own actions and experiences. I use my music to translate the emotions and nuances of life that simply can’t be explained through words – but a feeling that can be expressed with how we decorate our time through sound.
